You may have heard that it can be difficult to find a job in Spain as a foreigner or expat. Of course, as a native you do not have so much paperwork, but it is no trickier to find a job in Spain than in any other country. If you are considering a new career here, Barcelona is a great place for the international worker. It is without doubt the most European city in Spain, with a real cosmopolitan vibe and an ever-growing community of European inhabitants. Therefore there are many job opportunities for foreigners. This does not mean the traditional ´foreigner´ job such as a waiter or barman; an increasing number of multinational companies have started to outsource or relocate several divisions here in over the last few years. This means that the number of positions available for international employees with languages is on the up.
